This Week’s Kitchen Adventures: Making Orecchiette, Fettuccine, Pappardelle and Working on My Website Theme!
Between flour-dusted counters and a few tech hurdles, this week has been full of learning, pasta-making, and building something new — and I can't wait to share it with you.
Keeping egg-free pasta from sticking can be tricky — a good dusting of semolina helps until it’s ready to freeze later. And honestly, if you’re cooking for two, you’ll get at least 5 meals out of this batch (just flour and water!). For 3–4 people, you’re looking at 4 generous meals — simple and satisfying.
Hello, my wonderful subscribers! 🌿
I’ve been a little quiet on the recipe front this week, but trust me, I’ve been working behind the scenes to make your experience here even better! 😄 I spent the last few days setting up my new blog theme — and wow, what a journey it’s been. While I would have loved to outsource this, I knew it was important to get familiar with the backend. After all, how could I truly own the space if I didn’t know how it all worked?
And I have to say — it feels empowering to learn something new! (Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?)
With so much info out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But I honestly believe that if you put your mind to it, we can all learn, grow, and equip ourselves with the knowledge we need. It’s all about persistence and curiosity. And I’m so proud of how my new theme turned out — it’s more user-friendly than ever! 🎉
The best part? The new layout makes it easier for you to find the recipes, tips, and posts you’re looking for. I want this space to feel accessible and enjoyable — not just a place for recipes, but for connection. By getting to know each other better, I can make sure I’m creating dishes that speak to you.
That being said, don’t worry — I was still cooking away in the kitchen! There are some delicious new recipes coming your way soon, so stay tuned. 🍴

🌞 A Quick Weekend Reminder (If You’re in South Africa…)
The sun is shining this weekend, so make the most of it before winter settles in! For those of you elsewhere in the world, I hope you’re getting some well-deserved relaxation as you gear up for the week ahead.
👩🍳 Recipe Sneak Peek: Broccoli and Orecchiette
You might have seen me posting on Instagram about this dish — and I’m so excited to share the full recipe on my website soon! It’s a simple, comforting dish that packs a punch of flavor. While I love making fresh pasta, store-bought orecchiette works just as beautifully. If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying meal, this one’s for you.
